UNDER CONSTRUCTION
L2P is new-construction, affordable housing, consisting of 41 single-family houses for rent. The homes will transition to homeownership after the initial 15-year rental compliance period. In year 16, the homes are sold at substantially discounted prices, granting significant equity to the homebuyer. Excavation for the first few foundations began in January 2021 and completion for the first phase of 6-8 homes is expected in late summer 2021.
The homes are energy efficient, designed to complement the surrounding neighborhood, and feature front porches, storage sheds, laundry hook-ups and off-street parking. Thirty-four homes are two-story, wood frame and vinyl sided, with full basements, offering 1160-1169 sq ft of living space. Each provides a kitchen/dining area, living room and half-bath on the first floor and three-bedrooms and full bath on the second floor. Seven of the homes, set aside for persons with physical disabilities, offer 949 sq ft of space with a slab on grade foundation to meet accessibility requirements, and include a kitchen/dining area, living room, two-bedrooms, and full bath all on one level.
Qualified residents must have incomes at or below 60% of area median based on family size (see chart below). Residents are required to provide basic, loving-care maintenance of their homes and yards and participation in home maintenance training and financial counseling is required.
