The Voters Block Community is a $20 million scattered site project along West Main Street in Rochester, NY. The project’s focus is at 431 West Main Street, which is the site where Susan B. Anthony voted illegally at a barber shop in 1872. This site features new construction of a 39 unit, mixed use apartment building with a community room, tenant storage, laundry, and a 2,300 s.f. café located on the first floor. The café will overlook a brand new, $2 million Susan B. Anthony memorial which is being designed by a local Artist. The project will also include historic rehabilitation of an 8 unit apartment building located down the street and new construction of 45 single family homes and duplexes in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Project Management

Mike Shackelford

Mike Shackelford is the Construction Superintendent for the single family home construction in our Voters Block Community. Prior to this project, Mike worked with Ryan Homes for a total of 20 years. his roles were as a Subcontractor Project Manager, Senior Project Manager and Quality Inspector. He has also worked as a custom home builder for Spartan Homes.

Patrick Fitzsimmons

Pat started his career as a Project Superintendent working for Wilbur Carlson in Colorado. Carlson was the largest developer on the western slope of the Rockies, building high-end townhomes and apartments in Aspen. Back in Rochester, working for the Pike Company, he was Project Superintendent on many turn key projects ranging from fast track retail to assisted care facilities. With college and county projects and LEEDS project experience, he comes to Home Leasing with over two million square feet of completed projects to his credit.
