Corporate Team

Nelson Leenhouts

Nelson B. Leenhouts has served as Board Co-Chair of Home Properties since his retirement as Co-Chief Executive Officer of the company effective January 1, 2004. He had served as Co-Chief Executive Officer, President, and a director of the Company since its inception in 1993.As Co-Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Leenhouts was responsible for the management of all Home Properties operations, including the division responsible for management of affordable housing properties.Nelson Leenhouts was a founder, and co-owner, together with his brother Norman Leenhouts, of Home Leasing Corporation from 1967 until he became sole owner in 2006. Mr. Leenhouts is a graduate of the University of Rochester.

Catherine L. Sperrick

Catherine L. Sperrick is President/COO of Home Leasing, LLC. Previously, Cathy had been involved in property management for Conifer Realty and Home Properties and has extensive knowledge of many affordable housing programs such as Project Based Section 8, Tax Credit and HUD Section 236. She is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®), holds her Low Income Tax Credit Compliance Certification and is a Certified Occupancy Specialist. Cathy is a graduate of St. Lawrence Universityand earned her Masters of Science in Management from Liberty University.

Trudy Starr

Trudy Starr joined Home Leasing in 2011 as Chief Financial Officer. She brings twenty five years of experience in consulting and strategic management to the position. Trudy has a bachelor's degree from St. John Fisher College and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York State.  Trudy is active in the community and has served as a Founding Board Member and former Treasurer of the Bivona Child Advocacy Center and is a past Board Member of Pre-Trial Services, Inc.

Aimee DeHaven

Aimee joined Home Leasing in August 2011 as an Executive Assistant. She currently assists the CEO, President and CFO of Home Leasing. Aimee is a graduate of Houghton College and brings more than eight years of administrative experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit realms.

Debbie Vecka

Debbie Vecka joined Home Leasing in January 2004. She is the Office Manager as well as responsible for Accounts Payable, Human Resources, and Lot Sales Administrator. She has over 20+ years of experience in these fields/functions.

Community Management Team

Samantha Samantha Everest

Samantha Everest joined the Home Leasing team in November 2010 as the Community Management Bookkeeper. In this role she is responsible for the accounting function of the properties under Home Leasing’s management. Her experience prior to joining the team includes banking and working in accounts payables. She has her B.S. in accounting from SUNY Geneseo and is currently pursuing her masters.

Cheryl Haas

Cheryl Haas has been with Home Leasing since July 2010. She is currently the Community Leader at Ogden Gardens and a Supervising Manager for Home Leasing. Cheryl has over eight years of Property Management experience with Farash Corporation as well as a background in Accounting and Service Administration. Cheryl is currently working on her Tax Credit Specialist Certification.

Megan Houppert

Megan Houppert has been a member of the Home Leasing team since the fall of 2010. After completing her education from Liberty University, Megan spent time working in the mental health field in the central VA school systems. She is currently the Community Leader of Voter's Block and Frederick Douglass Apartments and the Rent Up Specialist for Home Leasing. She is passionate about the Voter's Block Community and enjoys applying both her business and educational skills to making it a success. Megan is a Certified Occupancy Specialist and has a Low Income Housing Tax Credit Compliance Certification. Megan earned her B.S. in Family and Child Development and her Masters degree in Human Services and Counseling.

Cindy Cindy Owen

Cindy Owen joined Home Leasing in January 2010 as Property Management Assistant. She is responsible for the marketing and advertising for Home Leasing’s communities. Cindy also brings over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and is responsible for the management of the company's human resources policies, procedures and programs.

Sarah Werzinger

Sarah Werzinger has been with Home Leasing since March 2007. She is currently the Community Leader at The Farmington Gardens and the Resident Services Coordinator for Home Leasing. Sarah is an Accredited Resident Manager ARM® through the Institute of Real Estate Management. She is also an active board member on the Farmington Chamber of Commerce. Sarah earned her B.S. in Advertising and PR from Liberty University.

Home Leasing Services, LLC

Todd Todd Goodwin

Todd Goodwin, President of Home Leasing Services, joined HL in December 2010. Prior to his joining Home Leasing, he was the Vice President and Division Manager of Ryan Homes in the Syracuse Market. Mr. Goodwin brings 22+ years experience in the construction industry to HL and also received a BS from Michigan State University in Building Construction Management. Mr. Goodwin will be responsible for all construction activities at HLS as well as positioning the company for future growth and development.

Geoge George A. DeRue

George A. DeRue has served as Vice President for Home Leasing since February 2005. Prior to this, he served as Construction Manager for Home Properties, and its predecessor, Home Leasing Corporation.  Since joining Home Leasing Corporation in 1986, Mr. DeRue has focused on the development and construction of rental housing communities, medical facilities, industrial facilities, and a country club complex.  At the inception of Home Properties, Mr. DeRue served as the physical inspector for the acquisition team as well as the construction manager for the development and construction of multiple projects. Prior to joining Home Leasing, Mr. DeRue was an Estimating Manager at John P. Bell and Sons and a Surveyor at Lewis E. Kohl Engineers. Mr. DeRue has an Associates Degree in Civil Technology from Monroe Community College.

Paul Dahlkamp

Paul began his construction career in 1989 and graduated from Indiana University in 1990 with a degree in Actuarial Science. Working through the ranks of management and estimation at a variety of companies, Paul eventually became the Regional Costing and Production Manager for Ryan Homes (NVR Inc.) where he implemented processes and managed a cost reduction team, totaling savings of over $24 million dollars.  Paul has worked in various markets including Chicago, IL, Indianapolis, IN, Rochester, NY and Syracuse, NY. Paul joined Home Leasing Services LLC as Construction Estimator in July 2011. In this newly created role, Paul is responsible for cost estimation, obtaining bids, awarding business to trade partners, and managing overall costs of each project.

Alex Durgo

Alex joined Home Leasing in July of 2011, holding the position of Construction Administrator.  She performs administrative duties and project management, facilitating construction organization and coordination.  Ms. Durgo is a recent graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College with a degree in Communication.

Melissa Melissa L. Quinn 

Melissa Quinn joined Home Leasing Services in November 2010, and acts in the capacity of Project Coordinator, performing project management and coordination relative to contract development, project accounting, administration and inter-agency coordination related to the development and construction of affordable rental housing communities.  Ms. Quinn is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience in design and project management in the private Civil Engineering industry.  She is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam and Clarkson University, with degrees in mathematics and civil engineering.

John John Unger

John K Unger joined the Home Leasing staff in 2010. As Construction Manager, John is involved in the development and construction of rental housing communities with a focus on effective bidding, scheduling, cost control, and establishing and maintaining positive relationships with contractors and customers.  Prior to joining Home Leasing, Mr. Unger held numerous positions with Ryan Homes (NVR)for the last 40 years that included trades, construction management, business and sales management, and production training. Mr. Unger is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo.

Development Team

Cheryl Cheryl Stulpin

Cheryl Stulpin joined Home Leasing in 2011 as Vice President of Development. She is responsible for leading the expansion of development activity into the Pennsylvania and Maryland markets.  Cheryl has over 25 years of experience in residential, retail, office and other commercial development and over 13 years in affordable housing with concentrated efforts in the preservation of existing affordable housing. Prior to joining Home Leasing Cheryl was Vice President of Boston-based WinnDevelopment where she was responsible for the Rochester corporate satellite office and headed development activity in Pennsylvania and New York.  She serves on the Board of Directors for NYSAFAH and is a member of their Upstate NY Policy committee.  She is also a member of the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania and their Developers Council. Cheryl attended St. John Fisher and SUNY Empire State Colleges.

Phillip Borrelli

Phillip joined Home Leasing in 2011 as part of the Development Team. As Associate Project Director, Phillip assists senior staff members in the development and implementation of projects. Prior to becoming the Associate Project Director, he was an intern for Home Leasing and WinnDevelopment. Phillip graduated from the University of Buffalo Law School in 2011 with a concentration on housing, finance and development.

Wenda Wenda Glatz

Wenda Glatz joined Home Leasing in 2011 as the Development Project Director. Wenda is a licensed Real Estate Broker and holds ARM and CPM Candidate designations among several others. Wenda brings two years in development and over twenty five years of property management experience.

Donna Donna Scheg

Donna Scheg joined Home Leasing in March 2011 as Development Coordinator. Her primary role is the control of paperwork in the development process and keeping the development team on task with deadlines. Prior to Home Leasing, Donna worked for 17 years in new home construction with positions in office management, asst. project coordinator and marketing/design. Donna attended SUNY Oneonta.
 
   Bill Struzzi

Bill Struzzi joined Home Leasing in May 2010. As a Project Manager, his primary focus is currently the Voters Block project, where he has been developing and maintaining relationships with local businesses, organizations and neighbors.  He has prior real estate experience in development with Home Properties, and also as a Leasing Consultant at the Mount Vernon Square Apartments in Alexandria, VA.  Prior to joining the Home Leasing team, Bill worked as a marketing assistant in the Recreation Department at James Madison University in 2009. Bill received his Business Degree from Ithaca College in 2007, and his Master’s Degree in Sports Management from James Madison University in 2010.  Bill is currently working on his MBA at the University of Rochester’s Simon School of Business.
